Hi! I am an insurance agent in Florida and while I don’t sell as much Life and Health products as I used to I still have my license in Life and Health! First of all United Health Care is a great insurance carrier and in the last 10 years have (in some places) become as well known as say Blue Cross Blue Sheild…I have heard many stories in which they are better (especially in Neo Natal) than BCBS also. You shouldn’t have any problems especially if your current Drs already take UHC, as pregnancy is not considered a pre existing condition and therefore will not have any elimination period. You will be fine just make sure that all you plans for labor and deliverey are still included in your new insurance. I know this is stressful to change insurance midstream and all but rest assured your going to be okay>>>maybe better!
Take Care and Good Luck!

My husband’s employer changed insurance carriers while I was pregnant to UHC, too. I liked them just fine; the only problem I had was that the provider list on their website was out of date. One of the pediatricians listed was no longer practicing in my area. LabCorp labs are very similar to Quest and they are a preferred provider for UHC (as of last year). Other than that I really didn’t notice a change from our previous carrier. Hope this helps. Good luck!
